Pieter is suspicious.

"Maar, wat as ons verloor gaan?" vra hy, twyfel in sy stem.

"But what if we get lost?" he asks, doubt in his voice.

Anika glimlag selfversekerd.

Anika smiles confidently.

"Ek ken die pad. Kom, ons gaan dit regkry."

"I know the way. Come, we'll manage it."

Pieter aarsel, maar sy lojaliteit aan Anika laat hom saamgaan.

Pieter hesitates, but his loyalty to Anika makes him go along.

"Dankie dat jy by my gestaan het. Ek behoort te luister," sê sy ernstig.

"Thank you for standing by me. I should have listened," she says earnestly.

Pieter glimlag, effens meer selfversekerd.

Pieter smiles, slightly more confident.

"Volgende keer sal ek harder probeer om jou te keer," lag hy.

"Next time I'll try harder to stop you," he laughs.

Die sonskyn koester hulle op hul pad af, die berg se skoonheid keer terug.
