على كورنيش بيروت الجميل، حيث تمتد النخيل وتُسمَع أصوات الأمواج بلطف، كانت ليلى تسير ببطء في فترة استراحة الغداء.

On the beautiful Corniche in Beirut, where palm trees stretch out and the sound of waves can be gently heard, Layla was walking slowly during her lunch break.

The weather was wintry, and the air fresh and invigorating, while she silently pondered her professional life.

Today is Valentine's Day, and he decided he could not wait any longer.

لطالما أعجب بليلى من بعيد، واليوم يقرر أنه سيعبر عن مشاعره.

He has always admired Layla from afar, and today he decides he will express his feelings.

بينما يقترب كلاهما من نفس النقطة على الكورنيش، تلتقي نظراتهما.

As they both approach the same point on the Corniche, their glances meet.

يتضح على حسن التوتر، ولكنه يحاول التظاهر بالثقة.

Visible tension can be seen in Hassan, but he tries to appear confident.

"مرحبا ليلى"، يقول بصوت هادئ.

"Hello Layla," he says in a calm voice.

تبتسم ليلى وترد عليه بالتحية.

Layla smiles and greets him back.

يتحدثان عن العمل والحياة، ويجدان راحة في الحديث مع بعضهما.

They talk about work and life, and find comfort in talking to each other.

بعد لحظة من الصمت، يأخذ حسن نفسًا عميقًا ويخرج بطاقة صغيرة صنعها بنفسه، مُزينة بالرسوم اليدوية.

After a moment of silence, Hassan takes a deep breath and pulls out a small card he made himself, adorned with hand-drawn illustrations.

"هذه لكِ،" يقول بعصبية.

"This is for you," he says nervously.

"أردت فقط أن أعبر عن إعجابي بكِ.

"I just wanted to express my admiration for you.

وأيضًا، إذا كنتِ تفكرين في تغيير الوظيفة، أعتقد أن الإنسان يجب أن يكون سعيدًا في عمله.

And also, if you’re thinking about changing jobs, I believe one should be happy in their work."

"تأخذ ليلى البطاقة وتبتسم بمفاجأة، تشعر بالامتنان لكلمات حسن البسيطة ولكن العميقة.

Layla takes the card and smiles in surprise, feeling gratitude for Hassan's simple yet profound words.

"شكرًا لك، حسن.

"Thank you, Hassan.

لم أتوقع هذا أبداً.

I never expected this.

كلماتك تعني لي الكثير.

Your words mean a lot to me."

"تقترح ليلى أن يشربا القهوة معًا، ومع تناغم أصوات الأمواج في الخلفية، يبدآن في حديثٍ جديدٍ ومشوق، كلاهما مُفعم بالأمل نحو مستقبل يحمل إمكانيات جديدة.

Layla suggests they have coffee together, and with the harmonious sounds of the waves in the background, they embark on a new and exciting conversation, both filled with hope for a future full of new possibilities.

بهذا اللقاء غير المتوقع على الكورنيش، وجدت ليلى الشجاعة لإعادة التفكير في مسار حياتها، بينما اكتسب حسن الثقة للتعبير عن نفسه والتقرب خطوة من القلب الذي كان يشتاق إليه.

With this unexpected meeting on the Corniche, Layla found the courage to rethink her life’s path, while Hassan gained the confidence to express himself and move a step closer to the heart he longed for.

النهاية كانت بداية لكلٍ منهما، حيث بدأ كل من ليلى وحسن فصولًا جديدة في حياتيهما الشخصية والمهنية.
