  • Ar un dydd braf a heulog yn y gogoniant hanesyddol o Gastell Conwy, roedd dynes ifanc o'r enw Eleri yn cerdded yn llawen i weld ei ffrindiau.

On a lovely and sunny day in the historical splendor of Conwy Castle, a young woman named Eleri walked cheerfully to see her friends.

  • Roedd hi'n adnabod pawb yn yr ardal, ond heddiw roedd ganddi gwrdd â Dylan a Gwen wrth yr hen furiau cerrig.

She knew everyone in the area, but today she happened upon Dylan and Gwen by the ancient stone walls.

  • Wrth basio ger yr ardd, gwelodd Eleri rywbeth gwyn yn neidio o gwmpas yn y glaswellt.

As she passed by the garden, Eleri saw something white jumping around in the grass.

  • Meddylodd hi, “Siwr o fod, dyna gŵn cymydog, Seren! Rhaid iddo fod wedi dianc.”

She thought, “Certainly, that's the neighbor's dog, Seren! He must have escaped.”

  • Heb aros i feddwl, rhedodd Eleri tuag at y bwystfil gwyn gyda gobaith dal Seren a'i dychwelyd i'w pherchennog.

Without waiting to think, Eleri ran towards the white creature with hope of catching Seren and returning him to his owner.

  • Ond, nid Seren oedd o gwbl. Dim ond dafad goll oedd yma, yn helbulu yn y gwynt.

However, it wasn't Seren at all. There was only a lost sheep, struggling in the wind.

  • Serch hynny, roedd Eleri mor benderfynol i ddal y “ci” fel nad oedd hi'n sylwi.

Nevertheless, Eleri was determined to catch the "dog" so she didn't notice.

  • “Dewch yma, Seren!” galwodd hi, ond yr aeth y dafad ymhellach i ffwrdd.

"Come here, Seren!" she called, but the sheep moved further away.

  • Dylan a Gwen, a oedd yn aros am Eleri wrth y muriau, clywodd y sŵn a gwelodd Eleri'n rhedeg ar ôl y dafad.

Dylan and Gwen, who were waiting for Eleri by the walls, heard the noise and saw Eleri chasing after the sheep.

  • Roedd pawb yn dechrau chwerthin.

    Everyone started laughing.

  • “Eleri,” gwaeddodd Gwen, “mae hwnna ddim yn ci! Mae hwnna'n dafad!”

"Eleri," Gwen shouted, "that's not a dog! That's a sheep!"

  • Wedi clywed hynny, arosodd Eleri yn syfrdan; edrychodd yn ofalus ac yn sylweddoli ei chamgymeriad.

After hearing that, Eleri stopped in amazement; she looked carefully and realized her mistake.

  • Coch ei hwyneb gyda chywilydd, ond chwarddodd ynghyd â'i ffrindiau.

Her face turned red with embarrassment, but she laughed along with her friends.

  • “Wel,” meddai hi, “mae'n debyg ein bod ni'n gallu dod o hyd i hiwmor ym mhob sefyllfa, hyd yn oed gyda dafad ar goll!”

"Well," she said, "it seems we can find humor in every situation, even with a lost sheep!"

  • O'r diwdod hon, daeth hi'n stori y byddant yn ei hadrodd am flynyddoedd i ddod.

From this incident, it became a story they would tell for years to come.

  • Am y diwrnod hwylus pan aeth Eleri ar helfa wyllt am gi, dim ond i ddarganfod ei bod hi wedi bod yn hollio'r anifail anghywir.

About the day Eleri went on a wild goose chase for a dog, only to discover she had been chasing the wrong animal.

  • Ac fel y trwmleodd yr haul dros gestyll Conwy a'r cwmni da yn mwynhau eu gilydd, roedd pawb yn cytuno ei bod yn braf cael chwerthin ar dosturi eu calonnau.

And as the sun set over Conwy's castles and the good company enjoyed each other's company, everyone agreed it was wonderful to laugh at the troubles of their hearts.
