Embracing New Traditions: Eira's Winter Retreat
Eira a Gareth oedd yn archwilio'r dyffryn enfawr nodedig o dan gewri gwynion Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri.
Eira and Gareth were exploring the notable vast valley beneath the white giants of Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri.
Y gaeaf wedi cyrraedd, a'r eira'n dechrau cuddio pob cwr o'r dirwedd fel blanced o baent carpiog.
Winter had arrived, and the snow was beginning to cover every corner of the landscape like a patchy paint blanket.
Roedd Eira yn arwain gyda'i stepen gadarn, gan gofio bob cam o bob tro arfer hen, ar hyd y llwybr i gopa'r Wyddfa.
Eira was leading with her firm step, recalling every step of every familiar turn along the path to the summit of Yr Wyddfa.
Roedd y mynydd hwn o bwys mawr iddi, noddfa lonydd ond llawn achosion yn ei hatgofion.
This mountain held great importance for her, a quiet refuge but full of events in her memories.
Ei ffrind, Gareth, yn gwrthgyferbyniol yn yni a diffyg profiad, yn cerdded ychydig tu ôl fel ci bach yn dilyn amgenach.
Her friend, Gareth, in contrast, energetic and lacking experience, walked a little behind like a small dog following alternatively.
"Bydd hi'n Nadolig cytûn os cawn gyrraedd y copa hwn," meddai Gareth gydag ysbrydoliaeth a ffydd naid.
"It will be a harmonious Christmas if we reach this summit," said Gareth with inspiration and a leap of faith.
Ond a gyda'r eira'n tynnu'n drwch ac yn annisgwyl, yr hyder disodli gyda phryder i'r ddau.
But with the snow thickening unexpectedly, confidence was replaced with concern for them both.
Dim ond woodlan ogof i gyfarfod a'u croesawu gyda'i dreial a'u hysglyfaeth a ddaw gyda storm iâ.
Only the dark mouth of a cave met them with its trials and predicaments that come with an ice storm.
"Beth wyt ti'n feddwl, Eira?
"What do you think, Eira?"
" gofynnodd Gareth, tynnu ei het dyn am gynhesrwydd.
asked Gareth, pulling his hat tighter for warmth.
Teimlai Eira dyndra llanast emosiynol yn colli symffonau eu cerdd a berthnasodd â gorffennol.
Eira felt the tension of an emotional mess losing the symphonies of their shared journey related to the past.
"Ni ddylem ni beryglu," meddai'n bwyllog, gyda'i threm gymylu ar eiliad.
"We shouldn't take the risk," she said calmly, with a momentarily cloudy gaze.
"Rhaid rhoi diogelwch uwchlaw y traddodiad.
"We must put safety above tradition."
"Gyda chalon drwm ond gwallgof ar ffrindiaeth yn dilyfu tymheredd cynnes, gofynnodd Eira i Gareth ddod â hi at encilfa hynaf i ffwrdd o wynt a rhew.
With a heavy heart but maddened by friendship flowing with warm temperatures, Eira asked Gareth to take her to the nearest shelter away from the wind and frost.
Gwnaethant saffwch yn y cysgod cerrig, lle daeth yr atgofion i'r wyneb gyda thangnefedd newydd.
They found safety in the stone shadows, where memories surfaced with a new peace.
"Mae'n iawn i deimlo," ychwanegodd Gareth yn llawn amynedd, "ond er nad ydyn ni wedi cyrraedd copa'r Wyddfa, cawn dal draddodiadau a chreu rhai newydd yng ngolau heddiw.
"It's okay to feel," added Gareth patiently, "but even if we haven't reached the summit of Yr Wyddfa, we can still hold onto traditions and create new ones in today's light."
"Yn yr encilfa honno, gyda straeon yn gymysgu â chwerthin a chynnes, deallodd Eira fod modd anrhydeddu'r gorffennol tra'n dyfodol cysylltiadau newydd.
In that retreat, with stories mingling with laughter and warmth, Eira understood that it is possible to honor the past while embracing new connections for the future.
Roeddynt, am unwaith, o dan themhor y gaeaf llawn gobaith newydd.
For once, they were under the winter's canopy full of new hope.
Ac felly, gyda chalon yn fwy golau a llai intrinsecof nad echdoe, roedd Eira wedi dysgu bod draddodiadau nid yw’n methu i’w lloffa, ond ei fyrhau.
And so, with a heart lighter and less intrinsically bound to yesterday, Eira learned that traditions are not meant to be hoarded but cherished.
Roedd gan draddodiaadau'r gallu i newid heb ystyfnigrwydd yn erbyn y cerdded hefyd, un amser ar y tro, i ddyfodolaeth.
Traditions have the ability to change without stubbornly resisting the path as well, one step at a time, into existence.
