The wheel turned to the right, past the old cobblestone streets and directly into a grocery store.

  • Store vinduer rystede.

    Large windows shook.

  • Glasset knuste.

  • Lars kiggede rundt.

    Lars looked around.

  • Butikshylderne var væltede.

    The store shelves were toppled.

  • Appelsiner rullede på gulvet.

    Oranges rolled on the floor.

  • Han følte sig flov.

    He felt embarrassed.

But he knew he had to do the right thing.

  • "Undskyld," sagde han.

    "I'm sorry," he said.

  • "Jeg vil betale for skaderne.

"I will pay for the damages."

  • "Købmanden nikkede.

    The grocer nodded.

"But you also need to help clean up," he said.

  • Lars tilbragte dagen med at rydde op i butikken.

Lars spent the day cleaning up the store.

It was hard work, but he felt better afterwards.

  • Købmanden gav ham et klap på skulderen.

The grocer patted him on the shoulder.

  • "Godt gået, Lars," sagde han.

    "Well done, Lars," he said.

And after that day, Lars always cycled carefully, especially when it was windy.

  • Lars lærte en vigtig lektie den dag.

Lars learned an important lesson that day.
