In the crowded office in the heart of Copenhagen, Lars placed his coffee cup on the desk.

Next to him was his boss, Jens, in his gleaming white shirt.

  • Ude af det blå, fumlede Lars' hånd.

Out of nowhere, Lars's hand fumbled.

  • Han væltede sin kaffe.

    He spilled his coffee.

  • Og den landede på Jens' hvide skjorte.

And it landed on Jens's white shirt.

  • Jens så ned på sin skjorte.

Jens looked down at his shirt.

  • Der var en stor, brun plet.

There was a large brown stain.

  • Jens så vred ud.

    Jens looked angry.

  • Lars blev bange.

    Lars became afraid.

  • Han bøjede sit hoved.

    He lowered his head.

  • "Undskyld", mumlede han.

    "Sorry," he mumbled.

But Jens continued to be mad at him.

  • Hele dagen.

    All day long.

  • Han råbte af Lars.

    He yelled at Lars.

  • Han gav Lars meget arbejde.

He gave Lars a lot of work.

  • Lars følte sig dårlig.

    Lars felt bad.

  • Han vidste ikke, hvad han skulle gøre.

He didn't know what to do.

  • Næste morgen havde Lars en idé.

The next morning, Lars had an idea.

  • Han gik til en butik.

    He went to a store.

  • Han købte en ny, hvid skjorte.

He bought a new white shirt.

  • Han tog den med til kontoret.

He brought it to the office.

  • Han gav den til Jens.

    He gave it to Jens.

  • "Til dig", sagde Lars.

    "For you," said Lars.

  • Jens tog skjorten.

    Jens took the shirt.

  • Han så overrasket ud.

    He looked surprised.

  • Men han smiled også.

    But he also smiled.

  • Han sagde ikke undskyld til Lars.

    He didn't apologize to Lars.

  • Men han råbte ikke længere.

    But he didn't yell anymore.

He didn't give Lars too much work anymore.

  • Lars blev glad.

    Lars became happy.

  • Han var ikke længere bange for Jens.

He was no longer afraid of Jens.

And he became more careful with his coffee.

  • Han ville ikke spilde kaffe igen.

He didn't want to spill coffee again.

  • Han ville ikke gøre Jens vred igen.

He didn't want to make Jens angry again.

  • På kontoret blev tingene bedre.

Things got better in the office.

  • Lars arbejdede hårdt.

    Lars worked hard.

  • Han var glad.

    He was happy.

  • Og hans chef, Jens, var glad også.

And his boss, Jens, was happy too.

  • Alt var godt igen.

    Everything was good again.

And that was the end of Lars's story at the office in Copenhagen.
