It was a busy summer day in the heart of the city.

  • Skyskraberens glasfacade skinnede i solen.

The glass facade of the skyscraper glistened in the sun.

  • Inde i bygningen var der fuld aktivitet.

Inside the building, there was full activity.

  • På 14. etage arbejdede Niels ved sit skrivebord.

On the 14th floor, Niels was working at his desk.

He was busy writing reports, but his thoughts often drifted to Astrid.

Astrid was sitting at a desk on the other side of the room.

  • Hun skrev på sin computer, men pludselig begyndte hun at hoste.

She was typing on her computer, but suddenly she began to cough.

  • Niels lagde straks mærke til det.

    Niels immediately noticed.

Her face turned red, and she struggled to breathe.

  • Niels vidste straks, hvad der var galt.

Niels knew right away what was wrong.

  • "Astrid, er du allergisk over for noget?" spurgte han hurtigt.

"Astrid, are you allergic to something?" he asked quickly.

  • Astrid kunne kun nikke.

    Astrid could only nod.

  • "Skaldyr," hviskede hun knap hørbart.

    "Shellfish," she whispered barely audibly.

  • Niels vidste, at han måtte handle hurtigt.

Niels knew he had to act fast.

  • Han rejste sig og støttede Astrid.

He got up and supported Astrid.

  • "Hold ud, jeg hjælper dig," sagde han.

"Hold on, I'll help you," he said.

  • Han skreg til andre ansatte, "Nogen, ring 112!"

He shouted to other employees, "Someone call 911!"

He knew first aid and tried to keep Astrid calm.

  • "Træk vejret langsomt, Astrid," sagde han blidt.

"Breathe slowly, Astrid," he said gently.

But her condition worsened, and he knew there was only a small window of time.

"We need an EpiPen," he thought out loud.

He remembered that there might be one in one of the other offices.

He knew he had to find one quickly or risk Astrid's life.

  • "Nogen her har en EpiPen!" råbte han, og to ansatte begyndte straks at søge sammen med ham.

"Someone here has an EpiPen!" he shouted, and two employees immediately started searching with him.

  • Flere minutter gik, og Astrids tilstand forværredes.

Several minutes passed, and Astrid's condition deteriorated.

  • Endelig fandt Niels en EpiPen i en skuffe i en kollegas kontor.

Finally, Niels found an EpiPen in a drawer in a colleague's office.

He ran back to Astrid, who was now leaning on a chair, struggling with each breath.

  • "Hold ud, Astrid," sagde Niels, selv om frygten voksede indeni ham.

"Hold on, Astrid," Niels said, even though fear was growing inside him.

  • Han administrerede EpiPen'en hurtigt og korrekt.

He administered the EpiPen quickly and correctly.

  • Efter få sekunder begyndte Astrids vejrtrækning langsomt at blive bedre.

After a few seconds, Astrid's breathing slowly began to improve.

  • Sirenerne kunne høres i det fjerne.

Sirens could be heard in the distance.

  • Ambulancen var på vej.

The ambulance was on its way.

  • "Tak," mumlede Astrid svagt.

    "Thank you," Astrid mumbled weakly.

  • Niels følte en lettelse skylde ind over ham.

Niels felt a wave of relief wash over him.

When the paramedics arrived, they quickly took over and ensured Astrid was okay.

  • Niels vidste, at hun nu var i sikre hænder.

Niels knew she was now in safe hands.

  • Men noget inde i ham havde ændret sig.

But something inside him had changed.

Later that day, after things had calmed down, Niels looked into Astrid's office.

She had returned to work, but her eyes met his with a new light in them.

  • "Tak, Niels. Du reddede mit liv," sagde hun stille.

"Thank you, Niels. You saved my life," she said quietly.

    He couldn't help but smile.

"I would do it again. Astrid, I think... I think I have feelings for you," he finally said.

  • Astrid smilede varmt.

    Astrid smiled warmly.

"I've felt the same for a long time," she replied.

  • Og i det øjeblik føltes alting rigtigt.

And in that moment, everything felt right.

In the heart of the busy city, amidst the bustling work life, Niels and Astrid found a special connection.

  • En, der ville forandre begge deres liv.

One that would change both of their lives.
