Lost in Morocco: A School Trip to the Desert Oasis
Sveden drypper fra Kaspers pande, mens solen brænder ned fra himlen.
Sweat drips from Kasper's forehead as the sun blazes down from the sky.
Mette går ved hans side og knipser billeder med sit kamera.
Mette walks by his side, snapping pictures with her camera.
De er på skoleudflugt i en ørkenoase i Marokko, omgivet af endeløse klitter.
They are on a school trip in a desert oasis in Morocco, surrounded by endless dunes.
De har glædet sig til denne tur hele året.
They have been looking forward to this trip all year.
"Vi skal finde noget skygge," siger Kasper og ser sig omkring.
"We need to find some shade," says Kasper, looking around.
Der er ikke meget vegetation, kun et par spredte palmer og en lille kilde med vand.
There isn't much vegetation, just a few scattered palm trees and a small spring with water.
"Jeg vil tage et billede derovre," siger Mette og peger på en særlig høj klit.
"I want to take a picture over there," says Mette, pointing at a particularly high dune.
"Det bliver fantastisk!"
"It will be fantastic!"
"Vi må ikke gå for langt væk fra gruppen," advarer Kasper.
"We mustn't stray too far from the group," Kasper warns.
Mette nikker, men smutter alligevel af sted.
Mette nods but slips away anyway.
Kasper følger med, nervøs for at miste hende af syne.

Det er sommer, og varmen er ubarmhjertig.

De går op ad klitten, og da de når toppen, ser de sig forvildet omkring.

Kasper's heart beats faster.
"Hvad gør vi nu?"
"What do we do now?"
spørger Mette og holder om sit kamera.
asks Mette, clutching her camera.
"Jeg skulle have sparet batteriet."
"I should have saved the battery."
"Vi må tænke os om," siger Kasper og tørrer sveden væk fra sit ansigt.
"We have to think," says Kasper, wiping the sweat from his face.
"Vi har ikke meget vand og ingen mad."
"We don't have much water and no food."
"Jeg vil tage endnu et billede," insisterer Mette, men Kasper ryster på hovedet.
"I want to take another picture," insists Mette, but Kasper shakes his head.
"Vi bliver nødt til at finde skygge og vente."
"We need to find some shade and wait."
De sætter sig under en af de få palmer og prøver at samle deres tanker.
They sit under one of the few palm trees and try to gather their thoughts.
Tiden går langsomt, og skyggerne bliver længere.
Time passes slowly, and the shadows grow longer.
Mette tager forsigtigt sit kamera frem og inspicerer batteriet.
Mette carefully takes out her camera and inspects the battery.
Der er kun lidt strøm tilbage.
There is only a little power left.
"Vi skal signalere gruppen," siger Kasper.
"We need to signal the group," says Kasper.
"De må komme tilbage og lede efter os."
"They must come back and look for us."
Mette nikker og tager et billede af himlen.
Mette nods and takes a picture of the sky.
Blitzen lyser midt i skumringen, og de håber, det vil tiltrække opmærksomheden.
The flash lights up the twilight, and they hope it will attract attention.
De gentager det flere gange.
They repeat this several times.
Pludselig ser de en bevægelse i horisonten.
Suddenly, they see movement on the horizon.
"Der er nogen!"
"There's someone!"
råber Mette.
shouts Mette.
Det er deres lærer og klassekammerater.
It's their teacher and classmates.
Glæden og lettelsen er tydelig i både Kasper og Mette.

Da de endelig er tilbage med gruppen, ånder Kasper lettet op.

"Jeg fik alle de informationer, jeg behøver," siger han stolt.

"Og jeg har billeder og en rigtig god historie," siger Mette smilende.
"And I have pictures and a really good story," says Mette with a smile.
Kasper lærer, at det er vigtigt at være fleksibel og arbejde sammen som et team.
