Καθώς ο υπόλευκος ήλιος του χειμώνα έριχνε μακριές σκιές πάνω από τις αρχαίες γλυπτές στο Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης, ο Αλέξανδρος άνοιξε την πόρτα για την Ελένη.

As the winter's off-white sun cast long shadows over the ancient sculptures at the Museum of the Acropolis, Alexandros opened the door for Eleni.

Ήθελε να την εντυπωσιάσει με τις ιστορίες των έργων τέχνης.

He wanted to impress her with the stories of the artworks.

Το μουσείο ήταν ζωντανό με τον ειρηνικό ψίθυρο των τουριστών και τα χριστουγεννιάτικα στολίδια έδιναν μια γιορτινή νότα στην ατμόσφαιρα.

The museum was alive with the peaceful murmur of tourists and the Christmas decorations added a festive note to the atmosphere.

Η Ελένη, η παιδική φίλη του, είχε επισκεφθεί την Αθήνα για τις γιορτές.

Eleni, his childhood friend, had visited Athens for the holidays.

Καθώς περπατούσαν κάτω από τα λοξά φώτα, ο Αλέξανδρος της έδειχνε τις λεπτομέρειες από μια ανάγλυφη μορφή της Αθηνάς.

As they walked under the oblique lights, Alexandros pointed out the details of a relief figure of Athena.

«Αυτή η θεά ήταν προστάτιδα της πόλης μας», είπε με πάθος.

"This goddess was the protector of our city," he said with passion.

«Είναι πραγματικά όμορφα», απάντησε η Ελένη, ενώ κοιτούσε με θαυμασμό.

"They're really beautiful," replied Eleni as she looked on with admiration.

Ξαφνικά, μια δυνατή μυρωδιά αρώματος την έκανε να βήξει.

Suddenly, a strong smell of perfume made her cough.

«Πω πω, κάτι... είναι τόσο δυνατό!» είπε, καθώς έπιανε το λαιμό της.

"Wow, something... it's so strong!" she said as she clutched her throat.

Ο Αλέξανδρος κατάλαβε τι συνέβη.

Alexandros understood what happened.

«Πρέπει να σε βγάλω έξω στον καθαρό αέρα!» είπε και την πήρε απαλά από το χέρι.

"I need to get you outside into the fresh air!" he said, gently taking her by the hand.

Κάλεσε τον Νίκο, τον ξεναγό του μουσείου, για βοήθεια.

He called Nikos, the museum's guide, for help.

«Μην ανησυχείς, φίλε μου», είπε ο Νίκος.

"Don't worry, my friend," said Nikos.

«Θα φροντίσουμε την Ελένη.»

"We'll take care of Eleni."

Με δυσκολία, κατάφεραν να την βγάλουν έξω από το μουσείο.

With difficulty, they managed to get her out of the museum.

Η Ελένη ανέπνεε βαθιά μέχρι να ανακτήσει την ηρεμία της.

Eleni breathed deeply until she regained her calm.

Ο Αλέξανδρος, αν και ανησυχούσε, είχε καρδιά που χτυπούσε γρήγορα, όχι για την επίδειξη γνώσεών του, αλλά για την φροντίδα της φίλης του.

Alexandros, although worried, had a heart that beat fast, not for showcasing his knowledge, but for the care of his friend.

«Ευχαριστώ, Αλέξανδρε», ψιθύρισε, όταν μπορούσε πάλι να μιλήσει.

"Thank you, Alexandre," she whispered when she could speak again.

«Δεν περίμενα τόση φροντίδα.»

"I didn't expect so much care."

Ο Αλέξανδρος γέλασε απαλά.

Alexandros chuckled softly.

«Πάνω απ’ όλα, η πραγματική φιλία είναι πιο σημαντική.»

"Above all, true friendship is more important."

Όταν η Ελένη συνήλθε πλήρως, επέστρεψαν στο μουσείο με πιο αργό βήμα, αφήνοντας πίσω την ανάγκη να την εντυπωσιάσει.

Once Eleni was fully recovered, they returned to the museum at a slower pace, leaving behind the need to impress her.

Αντ' αυτού, απλώς απολάμβαναν την παρέα ο ένας του άλλου, με τον Νίκο να τους δείχνει κι άλλα μυστικά του μουσείου.

Instead, they simply enjoyed each other's company, with Nikos showing them more of the museum's secrets.

Αυτή ήταν μια μέρα όπου ο Αλέξανδρος συνειδητοποίησε ότι η παρουσία και η υγεία της φίλης του ήταν το πιο σημαντικό πράγμα πάνω από κάθε αρχαιολογία και εντυπώσεις.

This was a day when Alexandros realized that his friend's presence and health were the most important things, above any archaeology and impressions.

Ο αληθινός θησαυρός ήταν η σύνδεση και η αγάπη που είχαν μοιραστεί από την παιδική τους ηλικία.

The true treasure was the connection and love they had shared since their childhood.
