Accidental Tour Guide: Adventure in Tallinn's Historic Heart
Mihkel kõndis rahulikult mööda Tallinna vanalinna kiviseid tänavaid.
Mihkel walked calmly along the cobblestone streets of Tallinn's Old Town.
He loved seeing the beauty of the old town and feeling the history beneath his feet.
Ühel ilusal hommikul jalutas ta Harju tänaval.
One beautiful morning, he strolled down Harju Street.
Mihkel peatus, et imetleda Raekoja platsi.
Mihkel stopped to admire the Town Hall Square.
Äkki nägi ta rohkelt inimesi vanaaegsetes riietes.
Suddenly, he saw a lot of people in old-fashioned clothes.
"On vist mingi pidu," mõtles Mihkel.
"It must be some kind of celebration," Mihkel thought.
He stepped closer, and a friendly man invited him to join the group.
Mihkel arvas, et see oli mingi ekskursioon.
Mihkel assumed it was some sort of tour.
He joined them and smiled as they walked through the narrow streets.
Järsku peatus grupp ja pöördus Mihkli poole.
Suddenly, the group stopped and turned towards Mihkel.
Kõik turistid vaatasid teda ootavalt.
All the tourists looked at him expectantly.
Mihkel ei teadnud, mida teha, kuid otsustas improviseerida.
Mihkel didn't know what to do but decided to improvise.
"Siin on Raekoja plats," ütles ta, "väga vana ja kuulus koht.
"This is the Town Hall Square," he said, "a very old and famous place.
Keskel on raekoda, kus ammu aega tagasi arutati tähtsaid asju."
In the center is the town hall, where important matters were discussed a long time ago."
Turistid vaatasid uudishimulikult ringi, mõni tegi pilte.
The tourists looked around curiously, some took pictures.
Mihkel jätkas: "Vanalinnal on palju kitsaid tänavaid.
Mihkel continued, "The Old Town has many narrow streets.
Need on täis lugusid ja saladusi.
They are full of stories and secrets.
Näete seal kaugel Neitsitorni?
Do you see the Maiden Tower over there?
See kaitses linna vaenlaste eest."
It protected the city from enemies."
Inimesed noogutasid ja järgisid Mihklit mööda tänavaid.
People nodded and followed Mihkel through the streets.
Mihkel tundis end mugavamalt, kuigi tal polnud aimugi, et ta eksis ajaloolise taaslavastuse keskele.
Mihkel felt more comfortable, even though he had no idea he was in the midst of a historical reenactment.
"Vaadake neid majasid," näitas Mihkel juhuslikku suunda, "need on mitusada aastat vanad.
"Look at these houses," Mihkel pointed in a random direction, "they are several hundred years old.
Siin on kohvikud ja poed.
Here you have cafés and shops.
Vanasti olid siin kaupmehed ja käsitöölised."
In the past, merchants and craftsmen were here."
Turistid olid rõõmsad ja tänulikud.
The tourists were happy and grateful.
Mihkel lõpetas ekskursiooni vanalinna müüride juures.
Mihkel ended the tour at the old town's walls.
He turned around and saw that the people in old-fashioned clothes were standing and smiling.
Neist üks astus Mihkli juurde ja ütles: "Tänan, Mihkel, sa andsid meile suurepärase ekskursiooni.
One of them approached Mihkel and said, "Thank you, Mihkel, you gave us a wonderful tour.
Me oleme ajaloolise grupi liikmed, aga praegu mängisime turiste."
We are members of a historical group, but today we were playing tourists."
Mihkel naeris ja punastas.
Mihkel laughed and blushed.
He had given a tour to tourists without knowing that they were all part of a play.
Ta oli kogemata saanud giidiks.
He had accidentally become a guide.
Kõik plaksutasid ja kiitsid Mihklit.
Everyone clapped and praised Mihkel.
"Sul on annet, Mihkel.
"You have talent, Mihkel.
Võib-olla peaksid sagedamini ekskursioone andma."
Maybe you should give tours more often."
Mihkel naeratas ja tänas kõiki.
Mihkel smiled and thanked everyone.
He thought that Tallinn truly holds unexpected surprises.
The cobblestone streets, old buildings, and friendly people made his day special.
He continued his walk through the Old Town, feeling content and like a local hero.
