  • Lá breá samhraidh a bhí ann, agus bhí Seamus agus Aoife tar éis plean a dhéanamh le dul chun na hAillte Móire.

It was a beautiful summer's day, and Seamus and Aoife had made plans to go to the Cliffs of Moher.

  • Bhí seoda glasa an dúlra thart orthu agus an ghrian ag spalpadh a solais ón spéir gorm.

The green treasures of nature surrounded them, and the sun scattered its light from the blue sky.

  • "Tá an radharc seo dochreidte," arsa Aoife, a súile ag gobadh amach ar an bhfarraige mhór thíos fúithi.

"This view is incredible," said Aoife, her eyes gazing out at the vast sea below.

  • "Aontaím leat," arsa Seamus, a sciorta á socrú aige, "ní fhaca mé riamh áit chomh hálainn.

"I agree," said Seamus, adjusting his shorts, "I've never seen anywhere as beautiful."

  • "Agus iad ag siúl le chéile cois na faille, thosaigh na scamaill dorcha ag bailiú os a gceannta gan choinne.

As they walked together along the edge of the cliff, dark clouds began to gather above them without warning.

  • Bhraith Seamus an t-aer ag éirí fuar agus chonaic sé na scamaill ag tiomsú.

Seamus felt the air turning cold and saw the clouds thickening.

  • "Aoife, tá drochaimsir ag teacht!

    "Aoife, bad weather is coming!"

  • " a d'fhógair Seamus, ag pointeáil suas.

Seamus announced with a pointed finger.

  • Sular fhéad Aoife freagra a thabhairt, thosaigh na flaithis ag oscailt agus stealladh báistí trom ag tuairteáil anuas orthu.

Before Aoife could respond, the heavens opened and heavy rain poured down on them.

  • Bhí siad anonn i bhfad ón gcarr agus ní raibh aon foscadh in aice láimhe.

They were far from the car and had no shelter nearby.

  • "Seo, glacaigí le mo scáth!

    "Here, take my coat!"

  • " arsa Seamus, ag tabhairt scáth mór dá mhála droma.

said Seamus, offering a large coat from his backpack.

  • Tharraing Aoife a scáth féin amach, agus sheas siad le chéile faoin dá scáth mhór dearg, gáire á dhéanamh acu mar gheall ar an eachtra tobann.

Aoife pulled out her own coat, and they stood together under their two big red coats, laughing at the sudden turn of events.

  • "Ach, cad é seo?

    "But, what's this?"

  • " a mhothaigh Aoife go tobann, "tá an ghaoth ag éirí níos láidre!

Aoife suddenly felt, "The wind is getting stronger!"

  • "Bhí siad ag iompar na scáthanna ar nós seolta móra, agus thosaigh siad ag dul in airde, in airde go mall.

They were carrying the coats like big sails, and they started to rise slowly, slowly higher.

  • Bhí ionadh an domhain ar an mbeirt acu – bhí a scáthanna ag fónamh mar pharaisiúití beaga!

They were amazed – their coats were acting like little parachutes!

  • Seamus, a raibh greim daingean aige ar a scáth, gháir go hard le sceitimíní.

Seamus, holding his coat firmly, laughed excitedly.

  • "Féach orainn!

    "Look at us!

  • Tá muid cosúil le h-éin!

    We're like birds!"

  • "Aoife, a bhí beagáinín níos buartha, d'fhreagair, "Seamus, ní héin muid!

Aoife, a little more concerned, replied, "Seamus, we're not birds!

  • Conas a thuirlingfidh muid go sábháilte?

    How will we land safely?"

  • "Ach bhí an gaoth gan trócaire agus thóg sé iad níos faide ó na hAillte, thar páirceanna glasa agus an t-aigéan mórthimpeall.

But the merciless wind carried them further from the cliffs, over green fields and the vast ocean.

  • D'fhéach na daoine síos orthu le hiontas ón mbóthar thíos.

People looked down at them in amazement from the road below.

  • Tar éis nóiméad de sheilg agus comhrá, thosaigh an ghaoth ag maolú.

After a moment of excitement and conversation, the wind started to weaken.

  • Thóg Seamus agus Aoife anuas iad féin de réir a chéile, an ghaoth ag siosarnach trí gach sciorta scátha.

Seamus and Aoife lowered themselves gradually, the wind whistling through each coat sleeve.

  • "Ullmhaigh le haghaidh tuirlingthe, Aoife!

    "Prepare for landing, Aoife!"

  • " arsa Seamus, a gháire faoi réir.

    Seamus said, smiling.

  • Le cúnamh na scáthanna mara scéithe, thuirling siad bog ar pháirc garbh agus iad sábháilte agus slán.

With the help of their sea-scaled coats, they landed softly on rough ground, safe and sound.

  • Bhí an ghrian ag teacht amach aríst, agus bhí éadaí uile Seamus agus Aoife fliuch go craiceann ach bhí aoibh an gháire orthu.

The sun was coming out again, and Seamus and Aoife's clothes were soaked to the skin, but they had smiles on their faces.

  • "Sin eispéireas nach ndéanfaimid dearmad air go brách!

"That's an experience we'll never forget!"

  • " gháir Aoife, agus iad ag breathnú suas ar na hAillte a bhí díreach níos tábhachtaí anois ná riamh.

Aoife exclaimed, as they looked up at the Cliffs, which were now more important than ever.

  • Bhain Seamus agus Aoife gach sult as lá a bhí lán le heachtraí agus scéal le hinsint nuair a thabharfadh siad aghaidh ar ais abhaile.

Seamus and Aoife enjoyed every moment of a day full of adventures and a story to tell when they returned home.

  • Anois, thug siad aghaidh ar an mbealach abhaile, lán le cuimhní neamhghnách agus scéal iontach faoi laethanta na gaoithe, na báistí, agus na scáthanna paraisiúití a rith leo thar na hAillte Móire.

Now, they turned their faces back home, full of extraordinary memories and a wonderful story about the windy, rainy, and paradisiacal coats that took them over the Cliffs of Moher.
