アキハバラの街は、いつも活気に満ちている。

The streets of Akihabara are always bustling with energy.

特に冬の朝、頭上には巨大な看板が立ち並び、人々が交差点を忙しそうに行き来している。

Especially on winter mornings, giant billboards stand tall overhead, and people busily cross intersections.

ハルキは、その中をすり抜けながら、今日の大事なミーティングに思いを巡らせていた。

As Haruki weaved through the crowd, he was contemplating the important meeting he had today.

「今日は絶対に成功させないと」と、彼は決意を新たにしていた。

"I must succeed today," he renewed his determination.

夢のゲーム会社に入るチャンスだった。

It was a chance to join his dream game company.

しかし、どこかで落としてしまったポートフォリオを探す必要があった。

However, he needed to find the portfolio he had somehow dropped.

ポケットに手を入れると、焦りが彼を駆け巡った。

When he reached into his pocket, a wave of panic swept over him.

「あれ？ない！」

"Huh? It's not here!"

アキハバラの人混みの中を必死に戻るハルキの姿。

Akihabara's crowded streets saw Haruki desperately retracing his steps.

道端に立ち並ぶアニメグッズの店や、レトロゲームの魅力的な音が彼をさらに慌てさせた。

The anime merchandise stores lining the road and the enticing sounds of retro games only made him more anxious.

「どこで落としたんだろう？」

"Where did I drop it?"

その時、一人の女の子が彼に声をかけた。

At that moment, a girl approached him.

「ポートフォリオ探してるの？」

"Are you looking for a portfolio?"

彼女はカオリ。色鮮やかなコスプレ衣装をまとい、その笑顔は周囲を明るくした。

She was Kaori, dressed in a colorful cosplay outfit, with a smile that brightened the surroundings.

「私も手伝いましょうか？」

"Shall I help you?"

ハルキは一瞬戸惑ったが、彼女に感謝し協力を求めた。

Though Haruki hesitated for a moment, he expressed his gratitude and asked for her cooperation.

カオリはアキハバラに詳しく、二人で一緒に歩き出した。

Kaori was familiar with Akihabara, and the two of them set off together.

「まずは、道すがらにある可能性のある場所を見てみましょう。」

"First, let's check the places along the way where it might be."

途中、節分の豆まきが行われている神社の前を通り、二人は幸運を祈った。

Along the way, they passed in front of a shrine where setsubun bean-throwing was being held, and they both prayed for good luck.

冬の冷たい風が彼らの顔を冷やす。

The cold winter wind chilled their faces.

やっとの思いで、ハルキは駅のホームに駆けつけた。

Finally, with great effort, Haruki rushed to the train station platform.

ポートフォリオが線路ギリギリに立てかけられているのを見つけた。電車が間もなく到着するところだった。

He spotted the portfolio propped up precariously close to the tracks, just as a train was about to arrive.

二人は全速力で駆け寄り、直前で無事にポートフォリオを取り戻した。

The two sprinted over and managed to retrieve the portfolio just in time.

「ありがとう、カオリさん！」と、息を切らせながらありがたさを口にするハルキ。

"Thank you, Kaori-san!" Haruki exclaimed, breathless with gratitude.

彼女はにっこりと微笑んだ。

She smiled brightly.

「これでミーティングには間に合いそうだね。」

"Looks like you'll make it to the meeting in time."

そして、ハルキはカオリと一緒に、その会社のオフィスに急いだ。

And so, together with Kaori, Haruki hurried to the company's office.

会議室に入り、彼はポートフォリオをプレゼンテーションテーブルに並べる。

Entering the conference room, he laid out his portfolio on the presentation table.

ゲーム会社の担当者はハルキの作品に驚き、その情熱と努力を評価した。

The representative from the game company was impressed by Haruki's work, admiring his passion and effort.

ミーティング終了後、ハルキは自信を取り戻し、心の底から笑顔になった。

After the meeting, Haruki regained his confidence and smiled from the bottom of his heart.

「やっと夢の一歩だ。」

"It's finally a step towards my dream."

カオリもまた、自分の夢を追い続ける勇気をもらったようだ。

Kaori too seemed to have gained courage to pursue her own dreams.

アキハバラの街並みを、彼らは新たな仲間として歩き出した。

As they walked through the streets of Akihabara, they did so as newfound friends.

冬の寒さの中で、二人の心は温かかった。

In the winter chill, their hearts were warm.
