Jāņu nakts pie Juglas ezera klāt.
Jāņu night by Juglas Lake had arrived.
Mājīgā lauku māja silti pieguļ krasta, un gara zaļie koki čukst vasaras dziesmu.
The cozy countryside house snugly sat by the shore, and the tall green trees whispered the song of summer.
Šis bija bijis Jāņa, Ineses un Mārtiņa nostūrītis daudzus gadus.
This had been Jānis, Inese, and Mārtiņš's little corner for many years.
Māja, koki, ezers – tieši kā bija kopš bērnības.
The house, the trees, the lake – just as they had been since childhood.
Jānis, lauku mājas sargs, visvairāk no visiem priecājās, ka viss nemainās.
Jānis, the guardian of the countryside house, was the most pleased of all that everything remained unchanged.
But this time, on Jāņu evening, there was something gloomy in the air.
Jānis, Inese un Mārtiņš sēdēja pie ugunskura, un diskusija beidzot izbēga kontroli.
Jānis, Inese, and Mārtiņš sat by the campfire, and the discussion finally slipped out of control.
Inese un Mārtiņš uzstājās, ka lauku mājai nepieciešami jauni logi un modernas ērtības.
Inese and Mārtiņš insisted that the countryside house needed new windows and modern amenities.
"Tas piesaistīs viesus," teica Inese.
"It will attract guests," said Inese.
"Nepieciešama pieeja interneta un jauni mēbeles," piebilda Mārtiņš.
"We need internet access and new furniture," added Mārtiņš.
Jānis klusē, pārdomā, un mēģina saglabāt mieru.
Jānis remained silent, pondering, and tried to keep calm.
Viņam sāpēja sirds domājot, ka vecā māja var mainīties uz neatpazīstamību.
It pained him to think that the old house could change beyond recognition.
He remembered every summer of his childhood and how everything seemed simple and true here.
"Kas slikts vecajā?
"What's wrong with the old?"
" viņš ieprasījās, cenšoties saglabāt savu balsi tik mierīgu, cik iespējams.
he inquired, trying to maintain his voice as calm as possible.
Bet Inese un Mārtiņš neatkāpās.
But Inese and Mārtiņš did not retreat.
Viņi bija pārliecināti, ka nepieciešamas pārmaiņas.
They were convinced that changes were necessary.
Tikai tad viņi varēs saglabāt māju.
Only then could they preserve the house.
"Mums jārūpējas, lai mūsu bērniem arī būtu savs patvērums nākotnē," teica Inese maigi.
"We must ensure that our children also have their own refuge in the future," said Inese gently.
The fire sparks leapt into the air, casting light and shadow dances on their faces.
Jānis mineja savas ieceres.
Jānis mulled over his plans.
Stāvēja pie izvēles krustcelēm.
He stood at a crossroads.
Mainīties vai nē?
To change or not?
Mierīgi uzlūkojot draugus, viņš sajuta, ka mīlestība pret draugiem un māju bija viņu vienojošā saikne.
Looking peacefully at his friends, he felt that his love for his friends and the house was their unifying bond.
"Es esmu gatavs mazliet mainīties," teica Jānis.
"I am ready to change a little," said Jānis.
"Bet tikai, ja mēs saglabāsim lauku mājas būtību, tās dvēseli.
"But only if we retain the essence of the countryside house, its soul.
A new color and roof, but the wooden doors and the stove we repaired together in childhood – those stay."
"Ineses un Mārtiņa sejās parādījās sirdsšķīsta pateicība.
In Inese's and Mārtiņš's faces appeared heartfelt gratitude.
They hugged Jānis, and the changes became a compromise, a testament to their friendship.
Viņi atzīmēja savstarpējo vienošanos, lecot pāri ugunskuram, kā senču radusi piekoptā tradīcija noteica.
They celebrated their mutual agreement by jumping over the campfire, as the ancestral tradition dictated.
Jānis, raugoties uz mirdzošo ezeru, saprata, ka pagātne un nākotne varēja staigāt roku rokā.
Jānis, looking at the shimmering lake, realized that the past and future could walk hand in hand.
Viņš sajuta mieru un prieku.
He felt peace and joy.
He understood that change does not always mean loss but could be a gateway to something new and beautiful.
And so, when summer was in full bloom, amidst laughter and light, Jānis, Inese, and Mārtiņš created a shared dream for the future.
