The darkness had fallen over Bergen.
Regnet var kraftig.
The rain was heavy.
Lars var på vei hjem.
Lars was on his way home.
Han hadde en gammel paraply.
He had an old umbrella.
Paraplyen var ødelagt.
The umbrella was broken.
Lars bodde i Bergen.
Lars lived in Bergen.
Han kjente byen godt.
He knew the city well.
Han visste hvor han skulle.
He knew where he was going.
Men denne kvelden var annerledes.
But this evening was different.
Regnet gjorde det vanskelig å se.
The rain made it difficult to see.
Paraplyen hjalp ikke.
The umbrella didn't help.
"Jeg må komme meg hjem," tenkte Lars.
"I need to get home," thought Lars.
Han gikk fortere.
