Chasing Thrills: A First Skiing Adventure in Wintry Oslo
Ingrid og Lars var i Oslo.
Ingrid and Lars were in Oslo.
They had come from a town by the coast.
I Oslo skulle de prøve noe nytt.
In Oslo, they were going to try something new.
They were going to try skiing for the very first time.
It was a cold winter day in Tryvann, a popular ski resort in Oslo.
Snøen falt fra en skyfri himmel.
The snow fell from a cloudless sky.
It was as if thousands of tiny, razor-sharp crystals were falling to the ground.
I all denne skjønnheten sto Ingrid og Lars.
In the midst of all this beauty stood Ingrid and Lars.
"Er du klar, Ingrid?
"Are you ready, Ingrid?"
" spurte Lars, med skiene under armen.
Lars asked, holding the skis under his arm.
Ingrid nikket, men hun var nervøs.
Ingrid nodded, but she was nervous.
Alt var nytt.
Everything was new.
Skiene.
The skis.
Snøen.
The snow.
Kulden.
The cold.
"Grei t, tror jeg, " svarte hun.
"I think so," she replied.
Lars smilte.
Lars smiled.
Han tok skiene på.
He put on his skis.
Ingrid fulgte etter.
Ingrid followed suit.
Men det virkete vanskelig.
But it seemed difficult.
Skiene ville ikke feste seg.
The skis wouldn't stick.
Lars prøvde å hjelpe henne.
Lars tried to help her.
">Til slutt fikk de det til.
Eventually, they succeeded.
Skiene var på.
The skis were on.
Now they were going to try gliding on the snow.
Lars gikk først.
Lars went first.
Han gikk sakte.
He went slowly.
Han vinket til Ingrid.
He waved to Ingrid.
"Kom igjen!
"Come on!"
" ropte han.
he shouted.
Ingrid prøvde å følge etter.
Ingrid tried to follow.
Hun falt noen ganger, men sto opp igjen.
She fell a few times, but got back up.
Hun ville ikke gi opp.
She didn't want to give up.
Men så skjedde det noe uventet.
But then something unexpected happened.
Ingrid gled for fort.
Ingrid was gliding too fast.
Det var som om hun fløy.
It was as if she was flying.
Hun kunne ikke stoppe.
She couldn't stop.
Hun skrek.
She screamed.
Hun så en stor snøfonn foran seg.
She saw a big snowdrift ahead of her.
"Lars!
"Lars!"
" ropte hun.
she cried.
Men det var for sent.
But it was too late.
Hun gikk rett i snøfonnen.
She went straight into the snowdrift.
Snøen føk rundt henne.
The snow swirled around her.
Alt ble stille.
Everything was quiet.
Lars kom etter.
Lars followed.
Han ropte hennes navn.
He called her name.
He saw her skis sticking out of the snowdrift.
Han gravde henne ut.
He dug her out.
Hun var kald, men ellers uskadd.
She was cold, but otherwise unharmed.
De lo av hele situasjonen.
They laughed at the whole situation.
"Jeg sa det var gøy på ski!
"I told you skiing was fun!"
" sa Lars.
Lars said.
De gikk tilbake til hytta.
They returned to the cabin.
There they drank hot cocoa and talked about the day in Tryvann.
Det var gøy, men også litt skummelt.
It was fun, but also a bit scary.
But most importantly, they had fun together.
Tilbake i Oslo, gikk de gjennom Karl Johan gata.
Back in Oslo, they walked through Karl Johan street.
Julelysene blinket i trærne.
The Christmas lights twinkled in the trees.
De tenkte på dagen i Tryvann.
They thought about the day in Tryvann.
They would try skiing again.
Bare ikke like fort.
Just not as fast.
Og de skulle passe på hverandre.
And they would look out for each other.
Og de lærte noe viktig den dagen.
And they learned something important that day.
It's not about being good at skiing.
It's about trying something new, having fun, and helping each other when things get tough.
Anyone can end up in a snowdrift, but with a little motivation, we can always get out.
