In the midst of the busy noise of Bergen, there lived a girl named Lise. Every morning, she used to walk through the narrow streets of Bryggen. Summer was worse. The streets were always full of tourists.

  • Lise likte roen.

Lise liked the calmness. The birds sang in the distance. The sound of the water from the harbor was soothing. But in the summer, there was always noise. Languages from all corners of the world mixed in the air.

One day, she was going to school. She walked out onto the street and saw a large group of tourists. They blocked the road. She couldn't get past. Lise became frustrated. She tried to go around them, but they didn't move.

  • Lise tenkte på skolebussen hun måtte ta. Tiden gikk, og hun begynte å bli stresset. Det var en viktig dag på skolen. Hun kunne ikke være for sen. Hun tenkte hardt. Hvordan skulle hun komme seg forbi?

Lise thought about the school bus she had to catch. Time passed, and she started to get stressed. It was an important day at school. She couldn't be late. She thought hard. How would she get past?

  • Lise hadde en idé. Hun begynte å snakke høyt på norsk. Hun håpet det ville få turistenes oppmerksomhet. Det hjalp ikke. De fortsatte å blokkere veien. Hun kjente tiden tikket. Tanken på å miste bussen gjorde henne enda mer stresset.

Lise had an idea. She began speaking loudly in Norwegian. She hoped it would get the tourists' attention. It didn't help. They kept blocking the road. She felt the clock ticking. The thought of missing the bus made her even more stressed.

So, she cleared her throat and shouted, "Excuse me!" The tourists looked surprised at her. They began to slowly move aside. Lise sprinted and ran past them. She could hear the bus in the distance. She hoped she wasn't too late.

  • Da hun nådde busstoppet, så hun bussen kjøre bort. Hun sukket høyt. Hun hadde mistet bussen. Men, hun var ikke lei seg. Hun var lettet. Hun hadde kommet seg forbi turistene.

When she reached the bus stop, she saw the bus driving away. She sighed heavily. She had missed the bus. But, she wasn't sad. She was relieved. She had gotten past the tourists.

Lise walked back to the street she lived on. She waited for the next bus. She watched the tourists continuing to take pictures. She couldn't help but smile. Summer in Bergen could be noisy, but it was also colorful.

Since that day, Lise woke up a little earlier. She took her time getting to school. She enjoyed the colorful summer days in Bergen. Even though she sometimes got stuck behind tourists, she learned to be patient and savor the narrow streets of Bryggen.
