Ingrid's Mishap on the Trail: A Journey of Resilience
Det var en lys morgen i mai.
It was a bright morning in May.
Solen skinte over fjorden og fjellene.
The sun shone over the fjord and the mountains.
Nils and Ingrid were on their way to Preikestolen.
They had been looking forward to this hike for weeks.
De startet turen tidlig.
They started the trip early.
Stien var bratt, men naturen var vakker.
The trail was steep, but the nature was beautiful.
Nils gikk først.
Nils walked first.
Han elsker å gå på tur.
He loves hiking.
Ingrid fulgte etter.
Ingrid followed.
Hun smilte og tok bilder av landskapet.
She smiled and took pictures of the landscape.
Plutselig skjedde det noe.
Suddenly, something happened.
Ingrid stønnet og falt ned på bakken.
Ingrid groaned and fell to the ground.
Nils snudde seg raskt.
Nils turned quickly.
“Hva skjedde?
“What happened?
!” spurte han bekymret.
!” he asked, worried.
Ingrid holdt ankelen sin.
Ingrid held her ankle.
“Jeg tråkket feil,” svarte hun.
“I stepped wrong,” she replied.
“Jeg tror jeg har forstuet ankelen.” Nils satte seg ned ved siden av henne.
“I think I’ve sprained my ankle.” Nils sat down next to her.
“La meg se,” sa han forsiktig.
“Let me see,” he said gently.
Ingrid viste ham ankelen.
Ingrid showed him her ankle.
Den var hoven og rød.
It was swollen and red.
"Dette ser ikke bra ut," sa Nils.
"This doesn't look good," said Nils.
“Vi må stoppe turen.” Ingrid så trist ut.
“We have to stop the hike.” Ingrid looked sad.
“Men vi er jo snart fremme,” sa hun.
“But we’re almost there,” she said.
“Jeg klarer det, jeg lover.” Nils tenkte raskt.
“I can make it, I promise.” Nils thought quickly.
Han så seg rundt.
He looked around.
He knew they could get help at Preikestolen, but the way back was long.
“Jeg har en idé,” sa han til Ingrid.
“I have an idea,” he said to Ingrid.
“Vi kan ta en pause her.
“We can take a break here.
Jeg kan prøve å finne en fjellguide.” Ingrid nikket.
I can try to find a mountain guide.” Ingrid nodded.
“Vær forsiktig,” sa hun.
“Be careful,” she said.
Nils gikk raskt, men forsiktig tilbake ned stien.
Nils walked quickly but carefully back down the trail.
Han møtte flere mennesker på veien.
He met several people on the way.
Finally, after a while, he found someone who could help.
A mountain guide with a first aid kit followed him back to Ingrid.
The guide looked at Ingrid's ankle and took out bandages and an ice pack.
“Dette vil hjelpe litt,” sa han rolig.
“This will help a bit,” he said calmly.
“Men du bør se en lege når vi kommer ned.” Ingrid smilte takknemlig.
“But you should see a doctor when we get down.” Ingrid smiled gratefully.
“Takk,” sa hun.
“Thank you,” she said.
With help from the guide, Nils and Ingrid carefully supported her back down the trail.
It took time, but soon they were safely down again.
“Jeg er så lei meg for at vi ikke nådde toppen,” sa Ingrid.
“I’m so sorry we didn’t reach the top,” said Ingrid.
Nils smilte til henne.
Nils smiled at her.
“Det viktigste er at du er trygg,” svarte han.
“The most important thing is that you’re safe,” he replied.
“Vi kan alltid prøve igjen en annen gang.” Ingrid nikket og smilte.
“We can always try again another time.” Ingrid nodded and smiled.
“Ja, vi kommer tilbake,” sa hun med et glimt i øyet.
“Yes, we will come back,” she said with a sparkle in her eye.
And with that promise in mind, Nils knew that one day they would stand together on top of Preikestolen.
Longer hikes await, but for now, friendship and safety were the most important.
