Norge har mange tradisjoner, og i Bergen er festivaler en stor del av livet.
Norway has many traditions, and in Bergen, festivals are a big part of life.
Byen er kjent for fisk og sjømat.
The city is known for fish and seafood.
En dag bestemmer tre venner seg for å dra på en festival.
One day, three friends decide to go to a festival.
De heter Ola, Ingrid og Magnus.
Their names are Ola, Ingrid, and Magnus.
Solen skinte, og været var perfekt.
The sun was shining, and the weather was perfect.
Ola sier, "Jeg har hørt det er en fantastisk matfestival i dag."
Ola says, "I’ve heard there’s a fantastic food festival today."
Ingrid smiler og svarer, "Ja, de har tradisjonell norsk mat!"
Ingrid smiles and replies, "Yes, they have traditional Norwegian food!"
Magnus nikker ivrig, "Jeg gleder meg til å prøve lutefisk og rømmegrøt."
Magnus nods eagerly, "I’m looking forward to trying lutefisk and rømmegrøt."
De tre vennene gikk til torget i byen.
The three friends went to the town square.
Der var det mange stander.
There were many stands.
De fulgte skiltet som sa "Konkuransse".
They followed a sign that said "Competition."
De tenkte det betydde matkonkurranse.
They thought it meant a food competition.
De var så spent.

Ved standen var det mange folk.

Et bord var dekket med håndlagde ullgensere.

En dame kom bort til dem.
A lady came over to them.
Hun smilte og sa, "Velkommen til strikkekonkurransen!"
She smiled and said, "Welcome to the knitting competition!"
Ola så på genserne og svarte, "Vi trodde det var en matkonkurranse."
Ola looked at the sweaters and replied, "We thought it was a food competition."
Damen lo og sa, "Nei, dette er en konkurranse for beste ullgenser.
The lady laughed and said, "No, this is a competition for the best wool sweater.
Men dere kan hjelpe med å bedømme hvis dere vil!"
But you can help judge if you want!"
Ingrid sa, "Vi vet ingenting om strikking, men vi kan prøve."
Ingrid said, "We don’t know anything about knitting, but we can try."
De satte seg ned og begynte å studere genserne.
They sat down and began to study the sweaters.
Helt uventet hadde de mye moro.
Unexpectedly, they had a lot of fun.
De lo og diskuterte mønstrene og fargene.
They laughed and discussed the patterns and colors.
Til slutt sa Magnus, "Dette var morsomt.
Finally, Magnus said, "This was fun.
Kanskje vi skal lære å strikke?"
Maybe we should learn to knit?"
Ola og Ingrid lo, "Kanskje det!"
Ola and Ingrid laughed, "Maybe!"
sa de i kor.

Efter konkurransen fant vennene en ekte matstand.
After the competition, the friends found a real food stand.
De spiste lutefisk og rømmegrøt.
