Janko sa usmieval, ale cítil aj určitý tlak.

Nebolo dôležité, že všetko okolo bolo nové.

Podstatné bolo, že tu stáli spolu.

Pri vianočnom strome si podali ruky a zaviazali sa.

By the Christmas tree, they shook hands and made a pact.

Budú sa stretávať každý rok, bez ohľadu na to, kam ich život zavedie.

They would meet every year, no matter where life took them.

"Na nás," povedal Bohdan a zdvihol pohár.

"To us," said Bohdan and raised his glass.

"Na priateľstvo," doplnila Miroslava.

"To friendship," added Miroslava.

S tými slovami si pripili.

With those words, they toasted.

Janko sa cítil slobodný.

Janko felt free.

Vedel, že čas prechádza, ale ak sa budú snažiť, ich priateľstvo pretrvá.

Svetlá stromu svietili jasne, presne ako ich spoločné chvíle.
