The Chatuchak Weekend Market was bustling with vibrant life on a Saturday night.

ปลายเดือนธันวาคม กรุงเทพฯ มีอากาศเย็นเล็กน้อย ซึ่งหาไม่ง่ายสำหรับเมืองที่ร้อนแรงเช่นนี้

By late December, Bangkok had a slight chill in the air, a rare find in this usually hot city.

ขณะที่แสงสีจากแผงขายของริมทางเท้ากะพริบระยิบระยับ นักท่องเที่ยวและชาวกรุงก็หลั่งไหลกันมาในตลาด เพื่อเฟ้นหาของขวัญพิเศษรับปีใหม่

As colorful lights twinkled from street stalls, tourists and city dwellers flocked to the market, searching for special gifts for the New Year.

สุวิทย์และอริสา เพื่อนสนิทที่คบหากันมานาน ก้าวเข้ามาในตลาดนัด

Suwit and Arisa, long-time close friends, stepped into the market.

พวกเขามีความสนิทสนมจนบางครั้งเพื่อน ๆ ของพวกเขาถามว่า “เมื่อไรจะเป็นแฟนกัน?”

They were so close that their friends would sometimes ask, “When are you two going to be a couple?”

"There are so many interesting things," Arisa beamed as she held Suwit’s hand and led him to explore various stalls.

“Suwit, what are you planning to buy?”

สุวิทย์ยิ้มแต่นึกในใจว่า "ฉันอยากหาอะไรดีๆ ให้เธอ”

Suwit smiled but thought to himself, "I want to find something nice for her.”

เขาเฝ้าตามอริสาไปตามแผงของที่เต็มไปด้วยผู้คน แต่ทุกขณะเขาก็หันกลับไปมองแผงขายที่น่ารัก ซึ่งอาจจะมีของขวัญที่เหมาะเจาะ

He followed Arisa through the crowds, but kept glancing back at charming stalls that might hold the perfect gift.

หลังจากที่อริสาไปดูของหลายแผง สุวิทย์ก็เดินมาเจอแผงขายงานฝีมือ

After visiting various stalls, Suwit stumbled upon a handicraft stall.

เขาหยุดเดินและสังเกตเห็นสร้อยคอที่มีรูปลายวาดต่อเติมคล้ายกับสัญลักษณ์ของมิตรภาพและความรัก

He stopped walking when he noticed a necklace adorned with designs symbolizing friendship and love.

“นี่แหละ” เขาคิดในใจ “นี่คือสิ่งที่ฉันตามหา”

“This is it,” he thought, “this is what I’ve been looking for.”

สุวิทย์หันไปทางคนขายของแล้วถามราคา ขณะที่เขาจ่ายเงิน สุวิทย์รวบรวมความกล้าและตั้งใจว่าจะแสดงความรักที่เขามีต่ออริสาให้เธอรู้

Suwit asked the vendor for the price, and as he paid, he gathered the courage with a resolution to express his feelings for Arisa.

ค่ำคืนผ่านมาอย่างรวดเร็ว

The night passed swiftly.

อริสาและสุวิทย์เดินกลับมาที่มุมหนึ่งของตลาดไฟที่สว่างไสว ราวกับเวลาหยุดนิ่ง

Arisa and Suwit returned to a bright corner of the market, as if time had stood still.

สุวิทย์หยิบสร้อยคอออกมา ขณะที่หัวใจของเขาเต้นแรง

Suwit took out the necklace, his heart pounding.

"อริสา ฉันมีของสำหรับเธอ" สุวิทย์พูดขณะยื่นสร้อยคอให้

"Arisa, I have something for you," Suwit said as he handed her the necklace.

"นี่คือของขวัญวันปีใหม่จากใจจริงของฉัน"

"This is a New Year's gift from my heart."

อริสาจับสร้อยไว้ในมือ มองดูรูปทรงที่สวยงาม แล้วเงยหน้ามองสบตาสุวิทย์ เห็นความจริงใจที่ฉายออกมาจากสายตาของเขา

Arisa held the necklace in her hand, admiring its beautiful shape, then looked up into Suwit’s eyes, seeing the sincerity reflected in them.

"มันสวยมาก ฉันรู้สึกได้ว่าเธอใส่ใจจริง ๆ ขอบคุณมากนะสุวิทย์"

"It's beautiful. I can feel how much you care. Thank you so much, Suwit."

"อริสา...ฉันอยากบอกว่า..." สุวิทย์เริ่มพูด แต่หัวใจของเขายังกระทบกระเทือนไปมา

"Arisa... I want to say..." Suwit began to speak, but his heart was still racing.

อริสายิ้มก่อนที่จะพูดว่า “ฉันรู้ว่าสุดมีอะไรกัน ฉันก็มีความรู้สึกเดียวกัน

Arisa smiled before saying, “I know what you mean. I feel the same way.

ฉันชอบตอนที่เราอยู่ด้วยกัน”

I love the times we spend together.”

เสียงพลุดังสะท้อนจากฟ้า ทั้งสองหันไปมอง พร้อมกับความรู้สึกที่อบอุ่นเข้ามาในใจ

Fireworks echoed in the sky, and they both looked up, warmed by the feelings growing in their hearts.
